Via Roberto DAngio 2
Gallipoli, 73014
In the heart of Gallipoli, where the past meets today’s dynamism, lies the Relais Charles V, in an aristocratic building in Corso Roma, at the corner of Via D' Angiò. The property is a few steps from the sea, but it is also well placed in the most lively part of the town, with its restaurants, bars and cafes and all sorts of shops and services. Our spacious rooms, whilst keeping their original features, boast modern furniture of extreme refinement, cured in style and details. Each room has vaulted ceilings and marble chip floors, and is equipped with a minibar and air conditioning, entrance with key passes and free wifi. The rooms are also serviced with toilets of high quality and technology, large showers with waterfall shower heads and marble shower trays. There is also a de-luxe room, equipped with a Jacuzzi. You will be served a typical Salentine breakfast, an open buffet offering homemade bread, jams, cakes and pies, all to be enjoyed under the living room magnificent frescoed ceiling or on the terrace during the periods in which it will be more pleasant to be outdoor. At sunset, at you return from the sea or the excursions or the shopping, you will enjoy a refreshing aperitif on the terrace. The Relais is situated on the beautiful Corso Roma from which, by a short walk you can cross a bridge and enter the historic center of the town, marked at its entrance by a beautiful castle, a XIV century fortress reflected in the sea, and one of the most important ports and markets for fresh fish in Salento. Then you meet ancient palaces and churches, through very narrow streets at whose entrances the invasion by Turks, Saracens and pirates where prevented by courageous combats. The Relais is 20 minute from the Baroque Lecce and only 10 from Nardò, of which only recently the splendid monuments, monasteries and churches, the beautiful coastline with  Santa Caterina, Santa Maria al Bagno, Porto Selvaggio and such findings as Upper Paleolithic caves have been discovered by the large visiting public. In a short time you can also reach the mysterious Otranto, protagonist of the famous classic work “The Castle of Otranto” by Horace Walpole and more recently of “Otranto” by Roberto Cotroneo. At the extreme South of the Salentine Peninsula, Santa Maria di Leuca, de Finibus terrae is waiting for you. We are committed to offer you a restful stay but also fun, to make you enjoy the culture, the sounds, the flavours and smells of our beautiful Salento and to introduce you to our hospitality Business hours of reception: Every day: from 08:00 to 20:00 . and from : to: on weekendsReceptionOpen 08:00-20:00 (local time)Reception manned at weekendsOpen 08:00-20:00 (local time)All tax included in rate.
